Turmeric is the yellow spices used in curry and mustard and is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine as a cleansing tonic and adaptogenic herb. Areas with diets high in turmeric have significantly lower rates of breast, lung, prostate and colon cancer. This "cousin" of the ginger root is also effective against arthritis and joint inflammation.
Usage : Start with 1/2 tsp. of turmeric with an 8 oz glass of water daily and work your way up to 1 tsp. a day.
